On the Campaign Trail in Lewisham

Now that the campaign is properly underway I am getting out and about around the borough.  I will post a few highlights here.

On the last Saturday of the Camapign I toured the borough meeting voters and candidates from Deptford to Sydenham.
I met Labour candidates and supporters in New Cross

A steady trickle of voters made their way to the early polling stations in New Cross, Lewisham and Sydenham.

Discussing the need for disabled access at Blackheath Station with local residents

Campaigning in Blackheath

On Saturday I was out and about in Blackheath on what felt like the first sunny day for weeks!  I met some local residents who are campaigning for improvements to Blackheath Station - particularly the provision of disabled access.  I was delighted to support their campaign.  Many of the stations in our borough are understaffed and have inadequate facilities.  I have been pressing the Train Operating Companies to address safety concerns a lot more urgently than they have so far and will be meeting their management shortly to press the case.
