My Pledge to the people of Lewisham
I will work to make our borough a place where difference is celebrated, where opportunities are created for our young people, where our elders are supported and valued, where respect and tolerance are encouraged and where we work together to make our home a safer, cleaner, greener place. - New swimming pools will be completed in Downham, Deptford and Lewisham Town Centre and Forest Hill Pools will be refurbished
- Energy Action Zones will be created to reduce usage and encourage local generation
- There will be more police on the streets and more areas covered by wardens to increase safety and security for all
- Lewisham Town centre will be regenerated with new homes, shops and jobs for local people
More power and influence will be given to individuals and local neighbourhoods over the things that make a difference to your area A young person's "opportunity card" will be introduced providing discounts on local activities and which can be topped up in return for volunteering in the community
